FALLOW LAND Fallow Land is a sculptural work that explores the land use policies of the United Fruit Company. Appropriating the aesthetic of corporate charts, I sewed a strip of yellow blanket binding onto one end of an eight-meter length of Astroturf. The strip of yellow represented the UFCo’s uneven use of its large properties, how the company often cultivated a very small amount of its land and left the majority of it fallow.
